Life Sciences Applications

The XRS2D50 is used to view a wide range of specimens, ranging from a mouse diaphragm to a live fruit fly.  The patented single crystal scintillator technology allows you to view extremely high resolution, non-invasive interior images.   With the XRS2D50, you can observe feature sizes as small as 3 microns!

“The ability to image whole living animals non-invasively is a very powerful tool with many, many applications. We used the XRS2D50 to image the digestive system of Drosophila melanogaster in both the pupal and adult stage of life.  We were extremely impressed with the images the XRS2D50 provided. The images were clear and in real time. Because of the non-invasive nature of the X-ray, we could still use the animal for further studies. We do not know of any other microscope system that gives you the ability to see the inside of an animal without destroying the animal and do this in real time. We have and will continue to recommend the XRS2D50.”
